Enough is Enough….

I lay my cards on the table. Being GC does not make a bigot, it does not make me a rightwing idiot, & it does not mean I hate Trans people.

Feminism isn’t homogeneous. For example, to me ,gender woo woo is a very, middle class, neo liberal concept that is churning up mischief & distracting left wing thinking & politics . Transgederism does not have anything to do with LGB, its not about sexuality

You’d think…..

You’d think that like they used to, before the coalition, the LibDem Reps. would back Labour, over an extreme right wing Tory Government.

In September 2016, Jeremy Corbyn said it was “really sad” that Labour
was “the only political party that’s ever had a statement of general anti-racism”.

The Conservative and SNP constitutions make no mention of racism or other forms of discrimination.

The Lib Dems’ membership code doesn’t explicitly mention race, antisemitism or
Islamophobia it however does encourage members to consider a
“checklist of questions you should ask yourself as you act internally or externally”

I wonder what has happened, as whether or not you agree with me,
I personally, as a working class woman, cannot & do not, trust the LibDems as a party any more. They seem to care for nothing, but self gratification.

In Out, Shake it all about…

Seriously…If anyone out there has a non hysterical reasan for being either IN or OUT of the European Union…please let me know? I am so confused, I can see reasons for being in & being out. However, the leaders of bothe sides of the referendumdom are foul & lothsome to me. So please advise……at the moment I feel I can only spoil my ballot paper….

Observations on The Labour leadership contest

So after a god awful General Election result earlier this year for The Labour Party, they now seem to have begun what can only be decribed as a  `Kafkaesque nightmare ‘ of a  leadership  contest.  Instead of embarking on a process of  uniting the Labour Party members & appealing to prospective Labour voters it would seem the following is happenening.

Contenders campaigns for the Labour leadership so far;

Liz Kendall is demanding that the members of the Labour party vote for her because;

  1. She wants to win.
  2. She  really wants to win.
  3. She really wants to win & if she doesnt she will stamp her feet & there will be trouble.

Yvette Cooper asks you vote for her because;

  1. She is doing her utmost to look sincere & has been practising her best hand wringing middle class angst pose.
  2. She really has honestly, & if that doesnt denote a great leader, well you just dont know how lucky you are to have her.
  3. She will explain all her policies & ideas after she has figured out what a socialist feminist is.  She really wants to win.

Andy Burnham would like you to Vote for him because;

  1. He likes to flip, he likes to flop & he truly will not stop.
  2. He likes to flop, he likes to flip, the vote for uni fees was just a slip.
  3. He wants to win…..or maybe not….yes he does.

Jerermy Corbyn  would like you to consider voting for him;

  1. He has consistantly voted against austerity measures that have impoverished many working, disabled, unemployed people & children in Britain.
  2. He wants  debates, not soundbites by rote.
  3. He possibly wants to win, but if not he will continue to oppose the current Conservative Governments policies & fight for a fairer society.

It would seem that three of the candidates in this leadership contest are spending more energy & campaign resources trashing a member of their own party than offering up any meaningfull opposition to the current Conservative government.

Along with all this, questions are being asked about former members of the Labour Party being unable to rejoin, Labour Party members being unabled to vote. Threats to oust a leadership candidate if `the wrong one wins’. Lord Mandalson slithering around in the shadows trying to dictate the outcome, & an ex Labour PM who really does think he’s a messiah figure, bleating on & on & on that the winner needs to be of the centre ground, which in actuality has moved to the right of the political spectrum thereby, making the Labour Party look like  a `Torylite’  spin machine.

Political discourse will, & action within the Laboutr Party,  cannot simply be about maintaining the status quo at all costs, it has to be inspiring, innovative, & inclusive for all Party members in order to have a strong united party. It  can then go to the country & offer sound policies & ideas to the betterment of all sections of society.  The sooner the blairites of the labour Party realise this isnt suposed to be a narcissistic vanity bitchfest the better,  perhaps then the real business of politics can begin.

No more Lords thank you very much

So UKIP believe they should have Peers in the House of Lords, do they?

Well that has kind of blown their claims of not wanting to be part of the political elite. Seems to me that as at the moment there isn’t one UKIP Member of Parliament they expect an easy way in to positions of power.

Seems to be a case of;

` We cant win seats in the commons so can you give us some in the Upper House.’

Just what we as a nation do not need. More unelected idiots riding the gravy train.

RIP Bob Crow, People Get Organised

Have to say, I was really sad by the news of Bob Crows death. Now whether or not you agreed with the fella, he was a guy who stood up for his union members & would fight for  them, for their rights & a decent standard of living.

Far too often it seems to me that far too many `Union Leaders’ in this day & age, are more interested in their own position, & power politics for their own advantage, than that of their Union members.

I say this to those out there, who say & believe that Unions are not good for workers, or that strong Union leaders are Dinasaurs…As the Unions have declined, so have living standards & the  lives workers & unemployed as a whole. Also,  along with the decline of Unions, the lives & standards  of the executives  has skyrocket out of proportion.

I would say that Society itself is diminished by weakening of Unions. The gap between the Rich & Poor in becoming wider, & in becoming collectively acceptable allows for the foundations of great societies to crumble. Thus, ensuring poverty, chaos, violence & prejudices to flourish.

So as others would say, whist you may mourn the passing of a great Union man… Dont just mourn..get organised.

RIP Bob Crow 52 years is too young.

>Occupy London Stock Exchange

>I ment to update this blog at the weekend, but sadly didn’t have time. Oh
well better late than never. My friend & I didn’t get to St Pauls till quite late
in the day, so no didn’t aee Julian Assange or hear him speak. On arrival
found that the police were blocking the road. However, a nice chap told us
to nip round a back street to where we could get through police lines &
into the Demo. Wasn’t that many Tents erected at the time, though that
had changed before we left later on that evening. Overall the atmosphere
was good, only a couple of scuffles when the police lines started to begin
their kettling manovers, moving in & enclosing people into a smaller &
smaller space. However, people sitting down row upon row, seemed to
stop them from making the enclosure very small. The Police tactic of the
day was to spend a couple of hours not letting anyone in or out, then a
couple of hours letting people in & out. So it wasn’t just a case of trapping
people for hours on end. Contrary to many of the rightwing comments I
have seen flying about the internet stating that the protesters are all
unwashed workshy spongers. The protesters we met are people that have
come together, from all spectrums of society, who have had enough of a
failing global economic system. A System that does not work to give
security or a decent standard of living for the majority of humanity. Neo
Liberal Capitalism has continually shown itself to be a system that works
for the few at the cost of the many. It is evolving in such a ways as to begin
the creation of a Global Feudal Society. A system that privatises profit &
power (for the few) & socialises debt & poverty (too the many). My friend & I cannot stay at the occupation site, however we intend to keep on on
visiting the occupation whenever we can for as long as we can. My hope
is that others will do the same,in regards to all the occupation sites across the UK & where they are taking place around the world, as this will keep numbers up & will not let the impact of this important Global protest fade away.

Finally a Big Shout Out to those people who are on the Jarrow to London March(another social protest not seen or heard much in the mainstream press. This march began 75 years after the original march of October 1936. It is a march for jobs & will be arriving In London on November the 5th ending in a rally at Trafalgar Square.
