>Well back from Sister V’s in South London, had a lovely Christmas with her & John considering the sad circumstances of Mum passing away on the 15th. Started Christmas Eve with the sad task of ordering the wreath for mums funereal on the 6th of January before myself, Sister V & a friend Karen did some last minute Christmas Shopping in Croydon. Thankfully it wasnt too crowded. (unlike boxing day, the scenes I saw on tv with the opening of the sales…some people are barbarians I tell ya!) Christmas Day was..Breakfast, shower, put on Dinner to cook whilst we took noff for a leisurely pit or three at the locals Witherspoons…Back home Eat dinner..a wee sit down & then of back to the Pub.
Only stayed in the Witherspoons for one pint that evening due to the enthusiasm of the l0cal student population deciding to begin a punch up, which Sister V, John & I decided to give a miss, Thus we made haste to a more genial pub with an older clientel (30+), which also had better music anyway..(c’mon, even @ Christmas there’s only so many Slades “Here it is Merry Christmas & Stiff Cliffs “Misletoe & Wine one can hear without ones ears starting to bleed!).
Boxing day was a more staid affair due to the fact that Sister V, John & I all came down with colds….urgh! Hence we lazed about, eating & drinking & blowing our noses! Got up reasonably early this morning & made my way back home to North London dragging a very full holdall behind me. Glad the trains were running well & on time 🙂 (hows that for a Christmas miracle 😛 ), as not feeling grand with the lurgies n all.
Luckily or not so luckily it seems most of my friends whom I’m meeting up with tomorrow for food & drinkies also now have colds, thus no worrying about germ spreading..as it seems we all have it anyway. The temperature has really dropped here in London over the past 48 hours….so its really feeling like winter proper now. In all Christmas wasnt too bad considering :).
(psst wouldnt have minded being on the Beach in NZ though 🙂 )
