Its strange, its been such a long time since I merely express my thoughts & feelings on/in a blog. I have seen over the past couple of years especially, the rise of Trolls. Those who would be loud, aggressive, smart arsed. Sadly they drive away the true voices of moderation, of reality. They drive away the voices of those who seek knowledge, & no im not talking necessarily about on an academic level, but more importantly I feel, those who seek knowledge on an holistic scale.
People who are interested in the world about them & the world in far off distant shores. Not of Governments or Corporations, but of people. It would seem now that Trolls, arnt just mere wankers hiding behind anonymity & spouting verbal bilge, some are actually paid, yes paid, to divert discussions away from critical thinking to be caught up in tribal or pedantic nonsense. Thus, internet discourse has become yet another corporate controlled medium as all the free spaces of chatter have died out, shut down or become mainstream media controlled.
This seems especially true as physical infrastructure in regards the internet or www has become the main source for mainstream media to communicate to the wider world to the detriment of other forms of communication. In other words, more & more, Big Corp controls & owns Bandwidth.
Theres a whole WWW out there, Google, The BBC. Sky, Netflix, Facebook are not the world wide web. How sad it is that a majority of people cant/dont realise that.
