>An evening at broadcasting house

>Happy New year, yes yes I know bit late eh? Why new year was two weeks ago. But hey me being me Im late as per usual, & anyhoo as I’ve been told. Better late than never.
So finally got to see a live recording of Radio 4’s `The News Quiz’ last night. Was bloody berilliant. The panel was made up of Susan Calman (very funny lady from Scotland), Sue perkins (very funny lady from North London), Jeremy Hardy (v. funny geezer, who was on form as ever), Henning Wehn (funny german comedian, who learnt english at the Dick Van dyke Scool of cockney english as a 2nd language, you gotta hear that accent 🙂 )& in the chair brilliant as always Sandi Toksvig. Though the tickets are free for this gig.
Gotta tell ya the entertainment is excellent. The broadcast program is approx 30 mins, but the recordings meant we the audience got a great two hours worth of giggles. And yes there is seriously a need for editing, somehow the language of merchant seamen doesnt seem appropriate for Radio Four. 🙂

Now if only I can get tickets for Just a minute, which reminds me, How old is Nicholas parsons? I swear the dude hasnt changed in over 30 yrs.

>When will the media get some Cahones?

>Was watching the BBC reporting t’other day on the student protests, wasnt very good really, whilst showing live pictures of police & students in whitehall with a bit of pushing & shoving, the BBC comentator Ben Brown described it as a “running battle”, talk about over hyping it up. Now im not saying that the situation didnt kick off at all, on occassions it did. But pls BBC in these situations please send someone in future who wont get over excited when doing a live second by second account & who will report the facts. I found it interesting how all the reporting concentrated on aggresion as well, considering that most, yes ladies & gentlemen, the higher pecentage of the demonstration was in fact peacefull. it was shamefull that the mainstream media, also had a problem reporting on the aggressiveness of the boys in blue towards demonstrators.
No were no accounts it seems regarding the two incidents whereby disabled journo Jody McIntyre was pulled from his wheelchair by London’s finest (you can see interview with Mcintyre here http://tinyurl.com/2wvr6qf).
There were quite a few incidents that day,the above being only one of them, that were not reported by mainstream media. Now there are many people who dont have access to online media, or dont know where to look for alternative news sources, in fact some I expect cant be bothered to look, hence they get heavily biased information about what is actually happening. The British public are mearly fed on a media diet of sensationalism, ie, attacks on the cenotaph, attacks on royalty, meanwhile the wholesale attack on the people of this country is brushed aside in the name of “austerity measures” & “public safety”. It was a sad day yet again for the way journalists report news events of public interest.

12 year old terrorists in England?
Today it was reported that a 12 year old boy was visited at his school by anti terrorist police without his parents present, for trying to organise an event regarding the closure of his local youth club http://tinyurl.com/2cwzyy9. This article was in the Guardian, which seems to be the only mainstream media that is reporting this today as I type. This to me shows yet again a real feeling of what I call Totalitarian Creeping that is effecting the state of not only this nation but much of our globe. Like those who promote this effect, Governments, Corporations, Religious bodies, we the masses need to go global in our organising of resistance. People in power need balances & checks in order for societies to be viable, civillised & dare I say fair. Totalitarian Creeping is my discription for the insidious way in which those who hold power, gently chip away at the rights of the people that have been capaigned/fought for, it also includes the throwing away of their responsibilities towards the wellbeing of their fellow citizens, finally it introduces state sanction measures to confuse & create fear (real or percieved) amongst the majority in order to enable favour & enrichment to the few. It is dangerous road to travel down & thus even if only in the name of common decency in regards to one another it must be stopped.

>Winter of Discontent 2010

>Students & the oiks

So today Mr Nick Clegg has stated in a letter to the National Union of Students, that their demonstrations against the rise in student fee’s will be the reason for poorer people being put off going to University in the UK & that the demo’s distort debate. Really? I thought it was because 9k a year x3 for fees PLUS 4k a year x3 maintenence loan to live on & buy books equals 39k. Which means that some people will then spend their working lives paying that off. Not all Uni Grads end up in high flying Highly paid jobs. The man is truly a Judas. The poor LibDebs are realising that the guy has done a Blair on their party. Thrown away any honest decency for the power trip he’s been given by being in this coalition of multi millionaire bully boys who seem happy to turn Britain into a nation where its citizens will be either corporate slaves or a lost underclass of the so called ‘undeserving poor’. Who will be continually used as scaspegoats for our asset stripping, lying political Masters
The man is a disgrace!

Wikileaks

Not going to comment alot on this as there is loads of info & articles out on the www
Just to say;
Oh my the Diplomats are in a Tizzy, but lets face it, a lot of the data just confirms what many have suspected regarding many countries thoughts on others. However, all the dirty washing is now hung out in the public domain for all & sunder to see. This has to be a good thing. I confess I actually laughed aloud at the Guardian headline ‘WikiLeaks cables: ‘Rude’ Prince Andrew shocks US ambassador’
We brits are used to family memebers of that over priveliged family of spongers of tax payers money being arrogant, xenophobic & downright crass.

Winter of discontent part 1

So far we have had two rather large Student Demonstrations & a third is taking place today. I have no doubt that the discontent many feel in Britain will expand in the new year, especially when the VAT increase kicks in & more people loose their jobs & possibly homes, whilst those in a the top of the banking sector, which was bailed out at tax payers expense continue to award themselves huge bonuses. Can the citizens of of the UK & the rest of the world continue to support these global corporate bailouts? I think not. Neo libral Global Capitalism has turned us into nations whereby profit is privatised & debt is socialised. This cannot & must not be allowed to continue. It cannot be sustained. The cost to then many at the profit of the few will surely lead to more civil unrest & more use of policed/militarised tactics by Governments to keep their citizens ‘kettled’. Not too mention that this policing will no doubt be increasingly carried out by private companys with no public accountability, as budget cuts to regular police forces diminishes.

Ladies & Gentlemen, we live in an interesting time of political turmoil.

>Nick clegg really is a Tory

>Nick Clegg defends `radical’ benefits cuts in an article in the British newspaper The Guardian http://tinyurl.com/2ufauta

I wont quote the article, you can use the link above to read it. But I have to say this wealthy man & his wealthy friends have no idea whatsoever about existing as a non wealthy person, living an average life in good ecconomic times, let alone during a recession.

The sad reality is that the people in the UK coalition Government & for that matter the opposition party live in an alternative wealthy reality.
Most seem to be career politicians & have’nt had to do a regular days graft in their privaliged little lives. All their theories are based on ecconomics & the creation of even more wealth for the already finacially independent in the hope that money will trickle down the human chain as it were. Sadly that theory has been proven to be incorrect as the opposite seems to have happened.

The continual political & social attack on the least affluent & politically impotent of this country by the Mp’s & certain parts of the media is a total disgrace.
So i’ll finish by saying to Nick Clegg & the others in Westminster & certain parts of the media, we are not all in this together as you keep implying, as you werent with us in the first place.

>These past couple of weeks you couldnt hide from religious nasties if you tried.

>Religions hitting all the headlines again & not in a good peacefull loving way.

So we have seen a moronic, vicious nonity of an american Christian pastor hit the worlds headline. Im not going to mention his name, I mean lets face it, if you dont know of whome I speak you must have been in hibernation. In response a usual crowd of idiotic persons from the muslim faith start freaking out. Also this week that fella from the vatican, you know the one who wasnt very helpfull in bringing child rapists in his organisation to justice is visiting the little bunch of islands where I live. Finally, there are `peace` talks happening in the USA between Isreal & Palistine which seem as usual not to be going to great, but then Isreal is busy handing out more permits for illegal Jewish settlements & Hamas is accusing the Palistian Authority of “colluding with Zionists”. So as per usual the `peace’ talks will be as they always seem to be, nothing more than talk.

Just for once it would be nice to see the Abrahamic Institutions realise that it is better to keep seperate Church/Mosque/Synagogue from state, and that their various bleatings for special treatment & rights to disregard equality for all persons is unjustifiable.

They wish to belive in a skyfairy, thats their choice if only they would go do it without all the higher moral BS they claim they have.

>So anyhoo been a long time since last blog…

>Been ages since I last blogged, kept meaning to but some how never got round to it. Shame on me! So the coalition Government is making a complete arse of Governing in the UK, & Labour sadly couldnt organise a piss up in a Brewery. I never realised that Centurist politics be it left or right Centurists (the 3rd way), was shorthand for “Ways in which lie, cheat your way into fucking up an entire country & fleece its populas, excluding the wealthiest”.

I’d also like to say,how nice to see all the Religious Freaks crawling out of the woodwork worldwide, seeing who can shout the loudest in regards to important things happening on this Earth such as,’who’s sleeping with whome’ `who’s up for stoning` & `its all those securalists, queer, women,{insert whateve} fault’. Lovely!

As you can tell sarcasm is dripping today, & before you say, “its not big & its not clever”
Neither, more importantly is the complete & utter divisionist crap being spouted by the Political & Religious Elites.

I would also lambast the media, however at this moment in time I dont have the energy. (lack of sleep). Will be blogging on some of the issues that have or havnt been in the news of this week, later on.

>told you….

>Sorry just had to type the “told you” title. Hung Parliment & no they cant organise a piss up in a brewery. 🙂 Still, it is a rather interesting situation we find ourselves in. So I suppose the real question is…What are the political elite going to do. There are obviously three choices at play.
1) The Tories have a minority Government.
2) Con/Lib Government
3) Lab/Lib Government.

Whatever they choose, I think it cannot be ignored that it seems the British public quite possibly hold all of them in contempt, also, it would seem that there isnt really much difference With regards to Gordon, David or Nick’s personalities. They all look weak quite frankly.

Voters have shown that they are tired of same old party politics & politicians. Who’s ego’s & kissing up to global corparations at our cost, is no longer acceptable.

So, I propose that the question for us Plebs is this. If the political elite choose amongst themselves who will run the country & how they will run it. Will we step back & see if they will act on for the wellbeing of all sections of the British population, if so we then leave them to get on with things. Or will it be a case that they choose amongst themselves these things & carry on using us plebs as piggybanks for political & corporate elites. If so, will we sigh & just say same old & do nothing. Or will we, the common people actively get further involved in the way our country is run, even if that means protesting in the streets?

As I have said, the current situation is rather interesting. I only hope we the people dont loose interest & hold TPTB to account & demand change for the better & that we all take responsibility for it.

>Hung Parliment?

>Well, looks like we are heading for a hung Parliament, Which could be interesting, though lets face it, none of the parties could organise a piss up in a Brewery…another election in 4 weeks ??? I think its highly unlikely, Tory boy will sneak into no. 10 with his minority Government & will no probably be remembered as a wet blanket of a PM, or a complete nasty little shit.
Rather disgusted to hear of people not being able to vote!!! Disgusting display of incompetence…..I myself voted early tf. Polling stations running out of ballot papers, not enough staff to make sure things run smoothly. Shocking for a western democracy? Or is this kind of thing about to become a regular occurrence in our elections?
Feel for the Liberals, I think in the end, people panicked & resorted to two party tribal politics. Have to say though, has been the most interesting General Election in years.

>Labour Bigots & conservative Bigots??

>As im sure those of you with an interest in British Politics have seen of late the huge hullabaloo regarding GB’s rant regarding a certain pensioner. Quite rightly so he was pulled up on it, but how sad the press have made it a bigger issue overiding any mention of proper policies, but then Ive not actually heard any “real” Policies from any of the three Political parties & find myself trying to choose the least offensive!!
It is also rather interesting that there isnt a huge hullabaloo regarding a certain Ms. Phillipa Stroud.
Phillipa who? You may quite rightly enquire. Let me give you the quick version of who she is. She is a lady of distinction among Camerons conservatives , who is aknowledged as a great influence regarding the Tory parties social policies, who also incidentally happened to found a church who’s intention was to “cure gays/transexuals”. No freak outs in the press I noticed, but then Cameron does like to show a facade of “compassionate conservatism” for the electorate, whilst having a back up team of rather nasty bigots. Sadly the lady in questions, seems to be bringing that “American Evangelical” element to British Politics & electoral debate albeit covertly.
Ladies & Gentlemen…This is an element that is so not required in western democracy
